    The online photos of this lodge are a little deceiving. When we arrived we were unsure that we were at the right place. We did decide to take a look before trying to find somewhere else to stay. The room was extremely clean but very outdated and there was a musky smell that we could not get rid of the entire weekend. The handle on the freezer door was missing, there was no receptacle in the bathroom and the shower head desperately needed to be replaced. The swing blinds in the room didn't guarantee much privacy as the air unit blew straight on them. The bed was super comfy, the grounds were well lit, the walk to the beach and boardwalk were great and the walking distance to Carolina Beach Road was good. I think with a little TLC and a few updates, this place would be a great spot. We spent most of our time around town so it suited our needs for a place to rest.
